SILENT DEATH — Is there a better example of how unique World War I is in its blend of medieval brutalism and cutting-edge technology? A timelessly deadly and rudimentary thing like a metal dart is tossed from a new-fangled “aeroplane”. Only in the Great War do you see something like this.
